Kicked Out of The PTA--

Well, I’ve got some time back in my life, and a new project for November.

Last week, I stormed out, quit my volunteer 'job' at school (in the Media Center). As Cartman on South Park says, "Screw you, I'm goin' home." Very much like that. And I’m so happy--well, I was in tears, but now I’m really happy. It’s been a rough couple of (extremely busy) weeks. After all the trauma, and stress, politics and gossip, and ridiculous crap that goes on in some organizations--freaking VOLUNTEER organizations...I'm out.

I tried to be a good PTA Mom in the new school, but I’m just not cut out for it--the bureaucracy and intrigue of longstanding relationships and situations I know nothing about--and don’t want to. More power to the people who give so much of their time and effort. I've probably been kicked out by now, which is fine. The kids are all doing great at school, and perhaps this was the way of the Universe, telling me I've got something else I'm supposed to be doing right now...(ew, that's awful new-agey sounding--sorry!)

So I'm going back to bed to write my first novel in 30 days during National Novel Writer’s Month...SURRENDER OF THE STAY-IN-BED MOM, or something like that. It's a Stepford Wives kind of thing--I think it’s time!
