Ya-Yas - Open Mouth, Insert Foot!

Within hours of sending out The Weekly Update yesterday, I got called out by my sister-in-law:
"I read the Divine Secrets book while on vacation in Mexico a long time ago (before kids). I loved it.
I forwarded your article on to all my Ya Ya friends (there are 5 or so of us that have known each other since grade school and we actually do call ourselves that –we even get together for “Ya Ya nights”). Come to think of it we even rented the movie and watched it together as one of our first Ya Ya nights. Anyway, you’ve inspired me to read the other two books..."
[And then the conversation turned to selling, or in my case, not (yet) selling our d*** houses...see The Rebel Column: On The Market...and actually, their house is finally Under Contract, and we've been about a month behind them in the whole process (listing, changing agents, etc.) so there is hope for us yet!]
Actually, there's nothing bad here--I only have one sister-in-law, and fortunately, she is terrific. She is so supportive, and fun, and I always love hearing from her. The first line of the email yesterday was:
"Great article, as usual!"
I just felt a little bad because I had squawked about the Ya-Yas in the column (see Summer Reading & The Ya-Yas), but it was the term itself, not the concept! And here my SIL has her Ya Ya Group in action, which is so fabulous--I'm jealous!! ;-)
So there you go--open mouth, insert foot! (I need a pedicure!!)
I apologized to my SIL--she just laughed about it--and just wanted to say to all the self-proclaimed Ya-Yas out there, more power to you! Whatever name you take, the concept is the same: Rebels, Ya-Yas, Mojo Moms, Desperate Housewives & Not-So Desperate, SAHMs, WAHMs, Working Women = sexy, strong, intelligent, fabulous women. You GO, Girls!
