Desperate Daily Show Last Comic Standing--

Hi Ya'll! I am in Florida today, taking a break from the sun & fun to check in--don't hate me because I'm on holiday...you've almost made it to Friday go-home-time, so it's practically THE WEEKEND for everybody!

Russ and I snuck away on a quick ROMANTIC WEEKEND GETAWAY (see Chapter 7 in The Rebel Housewife Rules), because we could--I looked at the calendar two weeks ago and realized, in among all the busy-ness with three kids, busy hubby, and book promotion...with my BIRTHDAY coming up next week (10/27--send money!!)(On second thought, just buy the book!;-), we had a few blank squares on the calendar--gasp!--so we took 'em!

I have a bunch of stuff to catch up on this weekend, but I'm mainly just enjoying the sun, laying out by the pool, reading, people-watching, and having fun...

Here's a couple of interesting things happening in the world:

1. I am so glad I will be home in time to watch the next episode of Desperate Housewives Sunday night. According to a recent article in The Seattle Times, Desperate Housewives is "the most-watched new series of the season". It has definitely created a HUGE buzz--and a great tie-in for The Rebel Housewife Rules!

2. In that same Seattle Times article, the subject I originally googled about: Daily Show's Jon Stewart's appearance on CROSSFIRE. If you haven't seen it, check out the video clip online or the transcript of the show on CNN. LOVE Jon Stewart--you Go, Boy!

For our weekend getaway, I finally bought the Daily Show book, America, for Russ (30% OFF at Target)--he's actually reading it, plugged into his iPod, giggling like a schoolgirl, especially over the naked Supreme Court Justices (paper dolls), and "What type of government best suits you?" If you have someone in your life who is a big Daily Show fan, America would make an ideal gift--order it online HERE.

3. Another controversy of note over one of our other most-favorite television shows: Last Comic Standing. [Note: NBC isn't even keeping their website up-to-date!] What's with this? Apparently, NBC CANCELLED the show--days before the season finale where they were to announce the winner! NBC signed it over to Comedy Central for the big finale show, naming Alonzo Bodden as the Season 3 Winner--and then announced the winner before it could be shown on Comedy Central! Here's the Buzz on Reality TV World and E!Online.

Russ is dragging me back out to the pool--gotta go!
