Camp Mommy/Spring Break - Day 3

Take Your Kids To Work Day

Well, this certainly isn't Spring Break MTV-style. Another full day of Camp Mommy/Spring Break, and yes, I must admit to having a thought today of a full-time nanny, daycare and/or sleep-away camp for the summer...for ME, if not for them. I also realized the special, and challenging, thing about having three children: there's always one to drive you crazy at any given moment. But we survived, and had a good day--

I really wonder what my children think I do all day while they are at school. Maybe it's kind of like me imagining my husband skips out happily every workday morning to play all day at the office, hang out with adults, enjoy adult conversation, indulge in a real lunch OUT (actually, he's been taking lunch a lot and I know he eats at his desk quite frequently, but still). The grass is always greener...

Camp Mommy is a good opportunity for them to visit work-at-home Mommy at 'the office,' so to speak:

"But Mo-om, we waited for you to do laundry and clean up the kitchen yesterday..."
Apparently, they don't realize both are a daily event around here; the laundry doesn't just leap up off the floor and sort, wash, dry, fold, and put away itself!

We finally got out of the house this morning, but we still had stuff to do: Tahoe Day.
Today was the day to -- are you ready for the excitment?! -- get the oil changed at Precision Tune, 'cuz Wednesday is Ladies' Day! I tried to make an adventure of it, since Precision Tune is right around the corner from The Varsity Jr -- an Atlanta tradition in Southern cuisine, and a fun place for lunch!

Speaking of traditions and fine Southern 'eats' -- we took the Tahoe to the car wash for a good cleaning (to deep clean the remnants of a Mocha pee-poop-step-in-it-and-then-vomit disaster, from her first trip in the car last week -- she didn't do so well) before the oil change. The car wash is right down the street from Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, so we had breakfast at Krispy Kreme, which is an adventure all in itself, especially if you go inside and watch the making of the doughnuts -- fascinating, and yummy, too (to a point, and then it's kind of nauseating).

Krispy Kreme - check.
Cactus Car Wash - check.
Precision Tune - check.
Varsity Jr. - check.

We were done by lunch and finished the day downtown at Centennial Park, which is FREE (except for parking), and a great way to end the day, especially on Wednesday, when they have live music! The kids played in the water fountains, we got to enjoy a performance by one of the Atlanta-area competitive drum corps (which is a sight and sound to behold!), and it was a gorgeous, warm afternoon.

I could almost imagine surviving an entire summer of days just like today...

Day 3 Total - $10
Parking downtown Atlanta
(We still had Krispy Kremes left from this morning and we took our own drinks in the snack cooler.)(The Krispy Kremes ($12) and Varsity Jr. ($18) were my treat for running the errands with me.)
