Online Shopping & EBATES - They Send YOU Money!!

Welcome to Cyber Monday, a new online, post-Thanksgiving shopping phenomenon described in Wikipedia:

The term Cyber Monday refers to the Monday immediately following Black Friday, the ceremonial kick-off of the holiday online shopping season in the United States between Thanksgiving Day and Christmas. Whereas Black Friday is associated with traditional brick-and-mortar stores, "Cyber Monday" symbolizes a busy day for online retailers. The premise was that consumers would return to their offices after the Black Friday weekend, making purchases online that they were not able to make in stores. The idea has not survived the test of time (who knew?! see Wikipedia:Cyber Monday for details), however, Cyber Monday has evolved into a significant marketing event, sponsored by the National Retail Federation's Shop.org division, in which online retailers offer low prices and promotions.

Not being a big shopper -- I hid out at home all weekend, staying as far away from the malls and "Doorbuster Specials" as I could possibly get, but I do have some timely, money-saving advice for online shopping: EBATES (referred by sherri@rebelhousewife.com)!

First, never order anything online, from anywhere, without Googling to see if you can find a Discount Code for discounts, special offers, free shipping, etc. (Search: Discount Code [store name]) Typically, one of the first results will be eBates.com, because they are awesome. eBates has the best discounts and coupons, links directly to the retail websites, and in the end, they (eBates!) send you MONEY -- not credits or additional discounts on future orders, CASH MONEY (in the form of a check), Baby -- I just got an eBates "Big Fat Check" for $6.88!! (I think that was from my Lego Holiday Train order.)
