A Hundred Years From Now

I've got one more for you tonight -- yes, I'm kinda phoning it in right now, but it will be better tomorrow, I promise.

Along the lines of poetry and inspirational quotes, this is my favorite quote, which we have on a plaque (one of our favorite teacher gifts)...and then I've got nothing else, honest, and we'll try to get back to CAMP MOMMY:

A Hundred Years From Now
... it will not matter what my bank account was,
the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...
... but the world may be different because
I was important in the life of a CHILD

We go to the funeral tomorrow morning, and it just sucks because our friend is the one, with his off-color jokes, endless funny anecdotes and oft-repeated stories, with his enthusiasm and all-embracing love, and his infectious, good-ol'-southern-boy-meets-Bad-Santa laugh (complete with beard) who would have made something like this bearable.
