CAMP MOMMY 2008 - Law of Relativity*

Week 7/Day 35 of 55 -- 4 weeks to go!

What a week -- and, all of a sudden, we're on the backstretch of summer, the downhill, with just a few busy weeks to go until the kids are back in school. Here in Georgia, the kids go back early in August (the 11th this year), and I know many of you will still be in CAMP MOMMY to September, but the Georgia kids have been home since before Memorial Day in May...

We are still catching up from the Five-Day Family Road Trip, and the week after vacation is always a free-for-all: as long as they are relatively quiet and get along, I'm more relaxed on the Rules, mainly so that I can recover and catch up.

We came home to problems, at home and at work, the price we pay for five days of play. It's all good -- I'm trying to keep in mind what I tell the kids all the time: Focus on the positive and it gets bigger. If you focus on the negative, it takes over.
So, at least we had one A/C unit still (kind of) working!

I mentioned to one of my friends at Publix that our A/C was broken and we were running hot. She one-upped me: She had called a technician out to her house because she wasn't getting any cold air from the A/C unit she had replaced only 18 months ago. The technician came back to the door after checking the unit and told her, "Ma'am, you don't have a unit back there -- the whole thing is gone." Somebody had stolen her entire air conditioner. Everything, down to the concrete pad; Now THAT sucks.

Suddenly, I wasn't feeling sorry for myself anymore.
