Countdown to FORTY

I don't even know where to start to catch up. The next obsession will be turning 40 in a few couple of weeks. 16 days. October 27th. Tick tock, tick tock.

Fortunately, my biological clock has already been satisfied, so that is not an issue. What's next? Hmmm...more on that later.

I think it will be fine, turning 40, I'm really not too worried. My husband is 18 months older than I am, and we are so co-dependent (in a good way, mostly), it already feels like I've been 40 for a year-and-a-half with him. Especially now that we are trying to do the low-cholesterol/healthy heart diet & exercise thing. (How's that going? Well, I'm going to a press event next week, sponsored by The National Dairy Council to introduce new "dairy-friendly" recipes and push dairy in their new "3-A-Day" promotion -- that can't be good. We are drinking a lot more red wine lately, though. That's good, right?!)

The thing I am noticing, as life seems to get more crazy-busy these days, and the daily pace so hectic, the thought keeps creeping in: I'm getting too old for all of this! Especially when I am around the younger mothers in Tiger's 2nd grade class. But then, I kind of realize, it's only just begun...it certainly does not get any easier, as the children grow older and more independent. The complications seem to multiply, and they need you more than ever.
