FLYLady Organization

It has been an amazing day already, and it's only noon! I'm sitting here in my home office/studio--which is a complete disaster, I have to tell you. Martha Stewart would just be HORRIFIED! (At least I can come and go as I please!) But it is a mess, with paperwork, boxes, books, stuff to mail, stuff to give away, stuff to throw away...and office supplies.

Why is it that every time I go to buy a new spiral notebook (for example), I have to buy 3 or 4...and whenever I need a new notebook (for example), I go right down to Staples and buy another 3 or 4 to put in the cabinet for next time...except now I can't fit anything more in the cabinet, so I have a stack of office supplies in the middle of the floor, next to stacks of paperwork, books, junk, etc., etc.

I don't even know where to get started in all this disorganized mess...(just so you know, the rest of the house is fairly clean and presentable, although we've got an epidemic of too much junk and clutter all over this house, which is itself too damn big (I never thought I'd have such a complaint!)...anyway, my little home office/studio above the garage is the dump zone for clearing and hiding everything from everywhere else in the house. I don't even know where to start...

I am trying to overcome, get organized, and do better--The FlyLady, bless her heart, is trying to lead me out of chaos with her book, Sink Reflections and her website and FLYMail at http://www.flylady.net - Check it out! I, myself, am completely overwhelmed by the concept, but it might just sink in a little here and there--I'm trying to keep my sink shiny and make my bed every day, which is already quite an accomplishment! I'll let you know how it goes--
