CAMP MOMMY: 10 Daily Accomplishments

Day 1, really, since yesterday was a holiday (Memorial Day) and...we survived.
[Remember, one kid is still up at G'Ma & G'Pa's, so having only two kids at home should be at least 1/3 easier...right?!]

My best friend was laughing at me today (the one with an only child, 11 years old), because I was up until 2am last night, worrying about Camp Mommy/Urban Pioneers. I drew up a rather elaborate daily schedule, which I am quite proud of, and at least takes the edge off the panic attack, giving me some feeling of structure and organization, however false.

She was laughing at me while we were sipping our "scoops" by the pool this afternoon while the children alternately played and fought in and out of the water and generally had a great time. She called me at 11:30am this morning -- one child at home, first day of summer vacation -- to see what we were doing. She can laugh, but she didn't even make it until noon on Day 1 -- and then she took notes on my schedule!!

I was trying to put the next 76 days in context, to put some routine in place, to make some goals. I don't want to expect too much, and I need to be highly flexible, but this is where we are as we embark on our 11-week adventure:

10 CAMP MOMMY Daily Accomplishments

8 - 10am
1) Get dressed, brush teeth & hair, make bed, pick up bedroom
2) Have breakfast, to include Protein, with Vitamins & Calcium
3) Take dog for a walk/Exercise
(I'm trying to get in 10,000 steps per day on Leslie Sansone's WALK AWAY THE POUNDS 6-Week Program & get the kids involved, too.)
4) Kids each have a Daily Chore to help around the house

10am - Noon
5) Two hours Free Time while Mom works
No TV until after 6pm, but they can play on the computer, read, draw, arts & crafts, play-doh, Lego, puzzles, play games, etc.
(My Summer Goal: Write one hour each day, along with two hours per day (one am, one pm) on RebelHousewife.com and keeping up with bi-weekly Rebel Reviews.)

Noon - 1pm
6) Lunch

1pm - 6pm
7) AFTERNOON ADVENTURES
(Today it was the pool, we have a whole list of possibilities!)

6pm - 8:30pm
8) Dinner & Family Time

8:30pm - 9pm
9) DEAR - Drop Everything And Read (Read together)
10) CAMP MOMMY shuts down! The kids can stay up, but they have to be in their room, reading, drawing, or playing quietly.

What's so funny about that?!

By the way, a "scoop" is a frozen Daiquiri, scooped out of one of those On The Border drink buckets -- Mom's "slushee" (yum). By the by the way, Desert Pepper drink tubs (same thing, assorted flavors -- you add your own alcohol) are On Sale: Buy two, get one FREE at Linens-N-Things this week, until June 3 -- stock up!!

Wow - Sherri, you have given me some good ideas for summer with the kids (school is in session here until the end of June). I was thinking of putting together a daily schedule - thanks for the help!
