CAMP MOMMY: Day 2 - Crisis!  Already!

Good Lord, help me get through this summer!

1. Didn't get out of the house until 2pm this afternoon, which is the hottest part of the day in Atlanta. Major modification to 10 Daily Accomplishments, which, in retrospect, should probably just be 5 Daily Accomplishments -- what was I thinking?! (Was it those "scoops"?!)

The modification being, that if we get out of the house in the morning for an Early Adventure, which is really the best plan in Atlanta, in the summer, we might reschedule "Free Time/Mom's Work Time" from 1 - 3pm, after lunch, before swimming. A "Rest & Digest" for everybody after lunch.

2. Here's a key to understanding my summer -- and please, help me out with any suggestions (my dear friend already suggested prescription medication; we compromised with the "scoops Rx" and I went and bought 2 buckets, got 1 FREE! this afternoon at Linens-N-Things, but hold off a minute on rushing out on that deal, because I think the best bet might be to stick with the On The Border Margarita/Daiquiri Buckets that you can buy at Publix and Target, I think. I'm not sure these Desert Pepper things are going to work out nearly as well, but I can tell you more tomorrow.):

Oh yes, the key to understanding my summer and why I keep telling DH by the end of it we'll all be on medication of one form or another:

I'm dealing with The 12yo Puberty Angst Boy (who is not even here, but calls everyday and is ready to come home tomorrow or Friday); The 10yo Drama Queen (who 'hates' both brothers and her life as a middle child, but really misses PAB -- to the point of tears and heartache this evening); and The 7yo ADHD Phenom (the next Tony Hawk/Bam Margera, if that gives you any idea)...

It's an unpredictable, messy mix of hormones, sibling rivalry, high energy and intense interaction, on the razor-edge between FUN and CHAOS. Unpredictable. Explosive. Crazy.
I will miss these days...

3. On an unrelated note, I am so proud of myself, the Work At Home Mom, today: I am all hooked up on RSS thru NetNewsWire (Lite), thanks to the help of my techie DH. (Applause, standing ovation, yay.) I am now reading and keeping up with all of my favorite blogs in one place, which is very convenient. I held off on the RSS thing for as long as I could, but the amount of spam email clogging my inbox has made it virtually impossible to keep up with subscribed emails, so I have taken one giant leap ahead in my love-hate relationship with technology. I think I have finally graduated from a NON-techie to a LOW-techie!

If you have no idea what I'm talking about with the mention of "RSS," here is an article you need to read: How to Explain RSS the Oprah Way .

4. I am also LOVING MyBlogLog.com -- that little box over there on the left sidebar with all those gorgeous little faces and avatars of people who have recently visited RebelHousewife.com. It is a very nice social networking community. I have a lot to learn still, but so far, so good!

Until tomorrow...
