I can tell you now...yesterday's 'big surprise' was an interview that aired tonight on the 6 o'clock news broadcast with anchorman Wes Sarginson on WXIA-TV Channel 11 Atlanta (NBC affiliate). He came out to the house yesterday afternoon and filmed the interview on the front porch of our home, with the kids running around being crazy--swinging on a tree swing, driving their beaten-up, broken-down battery car around, and skating on the driveway. Zach, Haleigh, and Tiger are now MEDIA STARS--and I look like one overwhelmed Mom, doing my best to enjoy life and kids in the midst of insanity and chaos--aren't we all???
Wes Sarginson is amazing, a veteran television broadcaster, with such a great sense of humor and fun. (Also a best-selling author with Fast Eddie (1983)--great book!) Wes was very specific about this interview--he wanted "real life, in the midst of the insanity," which is EXACTLY what he got. We did manage to get The Rebel Housewife Rules in there, around Tiger jumping up and down in front of the camera, shouting "I'm here!" and me getting hit in the face with a (small) tree branch (Thanks, Zach)--it's okay; it was an accident and I didn't get hurt, but it kind of sounds and looks like I really got whacked (it hit the microphone attached to my shirt--and I bent over laughing). We had a Big Time! I don't think we'll ever live down the classic one-liner: "Don't be a booger on TV, Zach!" Which of course they used. Twice!
