July - The Breaking Point?

I'm up late tonight (this morning, now), all by myself, drinking iced tea and eating milk chocolate macademia nuts (yum). Hubby is not here, out-of-town in St. Louis with his dad, for his grandmother's funeral. They have a large extended family in St. Louis, and are giving G'Ma Caldwell a good send-off -- a strong, dynamic lady -- mother of 9 (NINE) children! -- a life well-lived.

We have a LOT to catch up on Rebel, and I'll do my best in the next two days. I've finally figured out that July is an insane and exhausting month. Every year. Since 1997, when we had our first July baby (Haleigh), to 2000, when we had our second July baby -- on July 4th! -- (Tiger), to 2005, last year, when we made a major life transition from a big house in upscale Buckhead to a much smaller house in the more laid-back, diverse, artsy neighborhood of Virginia-Highland: new house, new neighborhood, new schools, new life...all in July.

It's been like that all month, again...

Russ will be home Thursday, and Friday morning we leave out for a fabulous weekend at the new Portofino Island Resort & Spa in Pensacola Beach, Florida -- SO looking forward to that! It's our last hurrah of the summer, since the kids go back to school August 14th...and we are moving August 15th (Ta Da!)!

We do have to catch up. I just wanted to let ya'll know, if you ever feel like you are waaayyy behind, disorganized, overwhelmed...me too!

In the next couple of days, we'll be talking about:
1. Summer Wrap: Best Moments/Worst Moments
2. Top 10 List - Fun With Kids in KNOXVILLE!
3. Urban Pioneers - The Next Great Adventure
4. August Book Give Away!

In Rebel Reviews, over the next several weeks:
1. TABLOID LOVE by Bridget Harrison (LOVED this book - fun beach read!)
2. IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN WHAT HE SAID by Eden Collinsworth
3. Carolyn Parkhurst (very excited!): DOGS OF BABEL and LOST & FOUND
4. GRACE METALIOUS (Peyton Place) Retrospective - a new all-time Rebel favorite!

How's your summer going?
