Light The Night - THANK YOU!

A huge THANK YOU for your support of the Light The Night Walk for Leukemia. Tens of thousands of people walked the downtown streets of Atlanta on Saturday night, to raise awareness, to raise money to find a cure, and in memory of loved ones lost to Leukemia and other blood cancers.

Since it is an after-dark event, to Light The Night, each walker carries a lighted balloon. (A helium balloon with a small battery-powered flashlight inside.) Friends and family carry red balloons; Cancer Survivors carry white balloons; and gold balloons are carried in remembrance of lost loved ones. It was an incredible sight to see so many thousands of balloons Light The Night on Peachtree Street and around Centennial Park. It was quite a procession, and it was fun, with music and dancing and cheering in the streets and all along the walk. Not somber or sad at all. It was heartening to see that the white (survivor) balloons far outnumbered the gold (remembrance) balloons, but I think we must still have a long way to go to find a cure for Leukemia, after our personal loss to this terrible disease.

We will walk again.
Thanks again for your love and generous support.
