Christmas Eve & Amazon.com

One more and then I'm done and offline for Christmas...

Three packages just arrived from Amazon.com, which is a good thing. I ordered three last gifts on Friday, when it became evident that The Big Gift we had planned was not going to make it, even as a New Year's Eve surprise -- we were willing to wait, it was just that cool. But, alas, those video game makers and their production and release slips...

Anyway, I ordered these other items on Friday, clicking on the SATURDAY DELIVERY ONE-CLICK buttons and willingly paying the extra shipping (actually, it's only $4.99 if you've paid your $79 for Amazon Prime, which I do, because I'm a total Amazon shopper -- I save at least that much never having to go to the mall. And I do mean never...can't remember the last time, since we escaped Buckhead three years ago...)

Amazon.com had me nervous, and kind of irate, this time: None of the packages showed up on Saturday. When I checked the account, the delivery dates had all changed to December 24th -- arrrggghhh!! No margin for error. I was mostly disappointed: Amazon.com has never let me down before. I sent a little note, Saturday night at 11:30pm, and by Sunday afternoon, they sent a reassuring email in reply, along with refunding the additional shipping charges for the One-Day/Saturday Delivery that wasn't. Now the packages are here, and all is right in our little corner of the world...

Love my Amazon.com
