The Weekly Update - Delayed

For good reason and good news, I will be a day late with The Weekly Update this week--actually two good reasons! ;-)

1) I will be announcing a very exciting CONTEST--first ever for The Rebel Housewife!--in the update this week, and I have to make some minor adjustments and programming to run the contest...that's what I'm working on this afternoon and will be ready tomorrow!

2) Also, came up with a Big Idea this morning--The Rebel Housewife SHOW!--hope to be telling you more about that very soon!

In the mean time, I can tell you some GREAT NEWS:

is coming off the press NOW and will be in stores very soon!

More great news! I heard from the publisher yesterday:
"Barnes & Noble has picked up 3200 copies of Rebel Housewife Rules for use on a cafe impulse table...this promotion will run October 5-November 1..."
...which is fantastic! ;-)

Sherri at The Improv--

Busy weekend--hubby and I ESCAPED for 24 hours! We actually camped (in a tent) in N. Georgia--so beautiful, so peaceful, so good to get away from the hectic pace of the city, even just for one day.

Had to come back Sunday afternoon to get myself down to The Whole World Theatre in time to visit an Improv Class in action. I'm already signed up for the next class, which begins August 30th, every Monday night for six months--what am I getting myself into?!

As I've begun interacting with the media, and had such a positive response to the concept of The Rebel Housewife, I've really recognized I needed to do SOMETHING to make the transition from (somewhat) introverted writer, to a more extroverted character, more at ease, more confident. I could take a speech class or join Toastmasters, but that sounds really boring...acting classes would be completely unnatural, so Improv it is...again, with something completely new, trying to focus on being more excited than terrified...

Celebration & Indulgence

GOT BOOKS TODAY--HOT OFF THE PRESSES--TOO COOL!!!!!
I came home to a FedEx package from the publisher (Red Wheel/Weiser/Conari Press) with 3 finished copies. Vicki and I will each receive a limited number of additional copies directly from the printer. I am SO excited, and I have no one to share it with--Vicki is in Hong Kong, psycho neighbor is definitely not into celebrating anything with me...Zach (9 years old) just isn't that impressed, although Tiger (4 years old) was--(looking at the cover): "That's Mommy and Bicki!" (no, that's not a typo, it's a "V" thing for him)

So here's to a little celebration--Woo Hoo!

Coming home from "ClubMom Day of Indulgence" at Gwinnett Center (convention center/arena)--FREE massages, manicures, and other goodies; lots of interesting people and hundreds of Moms (more than a few toddlers, too). It was an unexpected surprise, a benefit of membership in ClubMom (which is FREE)--"The National Membership Organization for Moms." I'll review ClubMom in The Weekly Update next week, but here's a link for more info if you just can't wait:
